The short film shows traditional pig slaughtering on the day of St. Ignatius of Antioch (20th December) in Bulgaria. With the winter solstice on the 21th of December are starting the so called "dirty days", which were connected in pegan times with bad spirits and their presence during this period. With the Christianisation the meaning shifted from fighting bad spirits to the starting point of the Virgin Mary's labour pain. Only in this context pigs are known as a sacrifice animals. How cultural heritage changes in the process of time passing and which meaning it has in daily life is the main topic of this work.
